Queen of the Netherlands Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti on Tuesday appreciated the financial inclusion programmes of Bangladesh Bank (BB), which is facilitating the underprivileged people of the country.
Financial Inclusion, women empowerment and human development programmes of the central bank has put a positive impact for the economic growth of the country, the queen said while addressing a seminar on “National Financial Inclusion Strategy” at BB’s conference room in the city.
Addressing as chief guest, the queen hoped that Bangladesh would attain its targeted economic development through the financial inclusion. More financial inclusion programmes can alleviate poverty and inequality from the society, observed the Ducth Queen.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman, presenting the welcome speech, said that the central bank has undertaken various financial inclusion programmes, including SME loan for women entrepreneurs and ten-taka account for the farmers. BB also asked financial institutions to disburse financial facilities to the former enclave people.
