Kader Gani Chowdhury and Shohidul Islam have been elected President and General Secretary respectively of a faction of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), says a press release.
Other office-bearers of the new committee are– Vice-Presidents- Basir Jamal, Shahin Hasnat and Anwarul Kabir Bulu, Joint Secretary– Arfan Nahid, Treasurer– Gazi Anowar of The New Nation (uncontested), Organising Secretary– Didarul Alam of BSS, Publicity Secretary– Dewan Masuda Sultana, Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary- Abul Kalam, Welfare Secretary– Khandaker Alamgir Hossain (Uncontested) and Office Secretary– Md Sahjahan Saju (Uncontested).
Elected members are– Hasnat Karim Pintu, Syed Ali Asfar, Rafiq Mohammad, Shahidul Islam, HM Al Amin, Kazi Tamij Uddin, DM Amirul Islam Omar and Rafik Liton.
