World Philosophy Day-2017 will be observed at Dhaka University (DU) tomorrow (Thursday).
Marking the day, DU Philosophy Department, Philosophy Department Alumni Association and Govinda Dev Centre of Philosophical Research will organise a discussion at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium at 10 am, said a DU release on Tuesday.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will attend the ceremony as the chief guest while Pro-Vice Chancellor (academic) Professor Nasreen Ahmad and Arts Faculty Dean Professor Dr Abu Md Delwar Hosain will be present as special guests.
Chairman of DU Philosophy Department Dr Md Shajahan Miah will preside over the function while Philosophy Department Professor AKM Haroonar Rashid will present the keynote paper titled “Thoughts on Secular State” in the function, the release added.
Director of Govinda Dev Centre of Philosophical Research Professor Dr Pradip Kumar Roy will give the welcome speech.
Earlier, a procession will be brought out from the foot of Aparajeya Bangla at 9:30 am marking the day.
