Dhaka University (DU) authority has taken elaborate programmes to celebrate the 117th birth anniversary of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on May 25.
To mark the anniversary, teachers, students, officials and employees led by Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will gather at Aparajeyo Bangla at 6.15 am and parade towards the Mazar of Nazrul with colorful procession.
Later, Prof Arefin Siddique will place wreaths the Mazar of Nazrul on behalf of the
university. A memorial meeting will also be held at the mazar premises, it said.
On the occassaion, DU Nazrul Research Centre will organise a discussion at RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium on the campus at 4pm.
