The 12th founding anniversary of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) of Dhaka University (DU) was celebrated in a befitting manner at the Business Studies Faculty premises of the university recently.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the celebration programs as chief guest by releasing balloon and cutting cake. Presided over by Departmental Chairman Dr M Badruzzaman Bhuiyan the inaugural function was addressed by founder Chairman of the department Prof Dr Md. Afjal Hossain and Assistant Prof Md. Kamrul Hasan.
DU VC Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman greeted students, teachers and employees in observance of the founding anniversary of the department. He urged the students to equip themselves with moral, social and humanitarian values. If the students bear and practice honesty, accountability, sincerity and non-communal spirits, they will naturally be honored everywhere in their life, DU VC opined.
After the inaugural function a seminar was held at the department with Dr M Badruzzaman Bhuiyan in the chair. State Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali, MP attended it as chief guest.
