Samia Rahman, a teacher in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University, yesterday filed a case against foreigner Alex Martin under the Digital Security Act.
She filed the case with Dhaka Cyber Tribunal while Judge Assams Jaglul Hossain of the tribunal recorded the depositions of Samia Rahman on Wednesday, but the court did not pass any order immediately after recording the depositions of the complainant.
It may be remembered that the Syndicate of Dhaka University recently demoted Samia Rahman from Associate Professor to Assistant Professor as plagiarism charge was allegedly proved against Samia in her research work.
The complaint says that the name of Alex Martin was used in false manner which is also defaming for Samia Rahman.
