The Dhaka University authorities on Wednesday fired a teacher for his alleged derogatory remarks on the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and ‘distorting the history of the Liberation War.’
The decision was taken at a syndicate meeting with vice-chancellor M Akhtaruzzman in chair.
Professor Morshed Hasan Khan of Marketing Department has been fired as it is proved that he distorted history and defamed the constitution, Mohammad Humayun Kabir, a syndicate

member of the university, confirmed these developments.
‘Morshed Hasan Khan distorted the history of the Liberation War and made defamatory remarks on Bangabandhu in a newspaper article titled ‘Jyotirmay Zia’ published in a national daily on March 26, 2018′, he added.
In the article, Morshed wrote that Ziaur Rahman declared the independence and commented that most of the Awami League leaders, including Sheikh Mujib, left the country to India during the Liberation War.
Professor Morshed- a leader of pro-BNP-Jamaat teachers’ panel, white-in a Facebook post later withdrew his remarks on Sheikh Mujib in the article and apologised for his act.
He then also said that he had no intention to demean the contribution of Bangabandhu and should have been more cautious while making those comments.
