In order to promote education and research activities, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between University of Dhaka (DU) and Iwate University of Japan was signed on Wednesday at a simple ceremony held at the Vice-Chancellor’s (VC’s) office of DU.
Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences of DU Prof Dr Md Imdadul Hoque and Vice President of Iwate University Dr Matsuo Uemura signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
DU VC Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Chairperson of the Department of Microbiology Prof Dr Mahmuda Yasmin, Chairperson of the Department of Fisheries Mrs Wahida Haque and Associate Administrator of Iwate University Katsunori Sasaki were present on this occasion.
According to the MoU, University of Dhaka and Iwate University of Japan will jointly organise seminars, training programmes and conduct research activities.
