DU shuts Hall canteen for supplying rotten foods

The Kabi Jasimuddin Hall administration of Dhaka University (DU) have locked the Hall canteen for supplying rotten foods.
It happended on Friday when the students found the spoiled rice with insects supplied at lunch time.
The students protested this and engaged in a dispute with canteen Manager Mubarak Hossain. At the one stage, the agitating students shut the canteen.
The students said that all the foods in the canteen were rotten and spoiled with bad smells. Besides, when we make entry into the kitchen, we saw the environment of the kitchen is totally unhealthy.
Later, Dr Muhammad Abdur Rashid, Provost of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall, came to see the foods condition and calmed down the students by promising to take appropriate measures.
“These foods are dangerous for the health of students. The guilty must be brought to justice. While he also asked the canteen manager to eat the foods,” Muhammad Abdur Rashid said.
The Provost later said, “We have closed the canteen for supplying unhealthy foods. The canteen will be run after appointing a new manager within two or three days in the canteen.”
