Pro-BNP teachers of Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday formed a human chain at the foot of Aparajeyo Bangla on the campus demanding release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail and her admission to a specialised hospital for better treatment.
Around 65 teachers under the banner of “White Panel teachers of Dhaka University” took part in the programme that began at 12 noon and continued till 1 pm. Prof ABM Obaidul Islam, convener of
DU white panel teachers said, “We are concerned over the health condition of Khaleda Zia. She is a former prime Minister and physically weak aged women. As an elderly and renowned citizen of the country she does not get any facilities in jail.”
“When a sick woman has to be taken to hospital for taking rest, then government has sent her to the court.
