A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University (DU) and AIMST University, Malaysia was signed on Tuesday at the VC’s office of DU to promote education and research activities. Treasurer of DU Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of AIMST University Prof Dr PK Rajesh signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution.
Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof Dr Md. Abdul Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof Dr Md. Ismail Khan, Director of the CARS Prof Dr Altaf Hussain and Senior Lecturer of AIMST University Dr Kazi Selim Anwar were present, among others, on this occasion.
Under this MoU, the two institutions will jointly conduct teaching and research activities and degree programs. They will also organize mobility programs for the faculty staff and students. Dhaka University and AIMST University authorities will take initiative to introduce credit transfer programs.
Besides, they will jointly arrange staff development and internship programs as well as special short-term academic programs including certificate and diploma courses.
DU VC Dr Arefin Siddique thanked the AIMST University authorities for signing the MoU. He also hoped that this initiative would enhance the quality of education and research at both universities.
