Transactions of over Tk5 crore were made in services and products at the US-Bangla Airlines Dhaka Travel Mart 2017.
The three-day event ended on April 1.
During the fair, airlines and tour operators sold air tickets, holiday packages, the hotel reservations and resort reservations. All the participants of the Mart offered discounts.
The fair was visited by over 15,000 people, according to the organisers.
Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Dhaka Travel Mart 2017, disclosed the approximate figures at the closing ceremony.
Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Media Affairs Adviser to Prime Minister, praised the event.
With rising income levels of the people, more tourists are expected to visit places in the days to come.
Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said the infrastructural projects undertaken by the government will help the tourism sector grow.
He distributed certificates among the participants of the fair. He also gave away prizes of the raffle draw among the winners.
