DSE ends week in red, CSE gain

DSE turnover loses over Tk 100cr Thursday

Key share price index in the country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) suffered nominal loss while that of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained Thursday, the last trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 1.59 points or 0.03 percent to reach 4592.73 at the close of trading on Thursday. Of the 294 issues traded, 126 gained, 133 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 420.81 crore changed hands at the DSE on the day as against Tk 537.45 on Wednesday.
The Thursday’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Mercantile Bank, Northern Insurance, Brac Bank Bond, Midas Finance, Reckitt Benckiser, Ibn Sina, Lafarge Surma Cement, Usmania Glass, BSC, and Rahima Food.
Meanwhile, the CSE key index, CSCX gained 27.92 points to reach 8899.90 at the close today. Of the 224 issues traded, 75 advanced, 127 suffered loss and 22 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues was Tk 39.07 crore on Thursday.
