DSE, CSE indices fall continues

Key share price indices in the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – experienced marginal fall after three consecutive days of gain on Sunday, the 1st trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX dropped 8.44 points or 0.17 percent to close at 4831.72 on the day. Of the 311 issues traded, 108 gained, 171 declined and 38 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 467.73 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday which is Tk 113.38 crore low than the previous trading day. Thursday’s turnover at the premier bourse was Tk 596.97 crore.
IDLC Finance said, “In continuation of recent rhythm in the bourse, market closed flat, despite promising start of the session. As investors remained largely divided on the coming trend of the market, sideways moved persisted with some sector and scrips play”
Another leading stockbroker, LanakaBangla Securities said, “Market showed strength in early trading as banking stocks was rolling up gradually, however, profit taking in last hour following to three days of continual rise in index inched down the market by 8.44 points.”
