DSE, CSE indices down on Wednesday

Key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – ended negative on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX dropped 19.27 points or 0.40 percent to close at 4777.90 on the day. Of the 315 issues traded, 145 gained, 138 declined and 32 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 630.24 crore changed hands at the DSE on Wednesday as against Tk 720.13 crore on Tuesday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were First Finance, Savar Refractories, Rupali Bank, Asian Tiger Sandhani Life Growth Fund, Standard Ceramic, Renata, Phoenix Finance and Investments, ICB Islamic Bank, GSP Finance, and Monno Ceramic.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Beximco Pharma, Square Pharmaceuticals, Khulna Power Company, Lafarge Surma Cement and Beximco.
Top five gainers of the day were Apex Foods, National Housing Finance and Investment, Zaheen Spinning, Rahim Textile, and National Polymer.
The CSE key index, CASPI lost 65.46 points to reach 14652.67 at close on Wednesday. Of the 256 issues traded, 89 advanced, 132 suffered loss and 35 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the CSE was Tk 51.67 crore on the day.
