DSE, CSE index begin week in red

Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – suffered loss on Sunday, the 1st trading day of the week.
Turnover at the country’s premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) slumped to Tk 348.99 crore on Sunday, the lowest in last four months.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 61.50 points or nearly 1.26 percent to close at 4838.11 on the day. Of the 301 issues traded, 63 gained, 206 suffered loss and 32 remained unchanged.
IDLC Finance said: “Market plunged into red as correction continued amid weakening turnover. The major index slashed another staggering 61.5 points as investors hurried to minimize portfolio loss. The turnover also went down to Tk 348.99 crore which was lowest in the last four months.”
