DSE, CSE end lower

The key share price index at country’s twin bourses -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – continued to fall on Monday, the 2nd trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX shed 33.85 points or nearly 0.76 percent to close at 4397.26. Of 310 issues traded, 56 gained, 218 declined and 36 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 305.07cr changed hands at the DSE on Monday as against Tk. 311.61cr on Sunday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Dulamia Cotton, Confidence Cement, Salvo Chemical Industry, BD Welding Electrodes, Zaheen Spinning, IFIL Islamic Mutual Fund-1, Union Capital, Fas Finance & Investment, Beach Hatchery, and Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries.
Top 5 turnover leaders at the DSE were United Power Generation & Distribution Company, Lafarge Surma Cement, Sasha Demins, Ifad Autos, and ACI.
The CSE key index, CSCX lost 78.66 points to reach 8177.58 at close on Monday. Of 239 issues traded at the CSE, 36 advanced, 179 suffered loss and 24 remained unchanged.
The volume of issues traded was Tk 28.96 crore at the CSE on the day.
