Key share price index in the country’s twin bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – suffered nominal loss on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
The DSE daily turnover came down to Tk 695.29 crore on the day.
Trading at both DSE and CSE began on positive note in the morning on Sunday, but ended the day with nominal loss after some ups and downs.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 22.37 points or 0.46 percent to reach 4822.71 at the close of trading on Sunday. Of the 289 issues traded, 73 gained, 194 declined and 22 remained unchanged.
Most of the traded issues of the day included those from mutual fund, ceramics, chemicals, aviation, pharmaceuticals, textile, and petroleum sectors.
Shares worth Tk 695.29 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Meghna Condensed Milk, 7th ICB Mutual Fund, Sylhet Crafts, Envoy Textile, FBFIF, AB Bank, Trust Bank, Islamic Finance, Libra Infusions, and Mercantile Bank.
The CSE key index, CSCX lost 46.31 points to reach 9476.74 at the close on Sunday. Of the 228 issues traded, 62 advanced, 149 suffered loss and 17 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues was Tk 58.03 crore on the day.
