Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will conduct a daylong symbolic cleaning programme titled ‘Detol Clean Dhaka’ on April 13 in the capital ahead of the Pohela Boishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon came up the announcement at a press conference at Nagar Bhaban in the city on Wednesday.
The cleaning programme will begin at 9 am on Friday (April 13) from Nagar Bhban to Gulistan zero point, he said, adding that the highest number of people is expected to take part in the programme voluntarily.
The mayor urged the people from all strata irrespective of their political affiliation to participate in the awareness programme.
Earlier, about 5,056 people were participated voluntarily in a one-kilometer street cleaning proagrmme in Ahmedabad of India.
