Larvicide and adulticide are being carried out in Ward Nos 13, 15, 21, 23, 38, 40 and 45. On Monday, DSCC carried out larvicide operations in the Dhaka University’s Central Library area. The mobile court will be operational from June 15, the DSCC said.
According to a survey by the Department of Health, the wards mentioned in the DSCC’s Southern City Corporation have been identified as moderately risky.
In this regard, DSCC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Farid Ahmed said, “It’s not possible to demolish mosquitos without everyone’s support. We want everyone to cooperate with us. We began the work early this year,” The Dhaka South authorities have undertaken a year-long initiative to reduce the dengue-spreading Aedes mosquito and the Culex mosquito.
“We have separated the seasons for the Culex and Aedes mosquitoes and undertaken fitting initiatives. The Directorate General of Health Services will also be helping us,” he said.
