The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has fixed the price of local beef at Tk 450 per kilogram, foreign beef Tk 420, buffalo Tk 420 and mutton Tk 720 in Dhaka during the upcoming holy month of Ramzan.
The decision was taken at a meeting between DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon and Bangladesh Meat Traders’ Association at Nagar Bhaban in the city on Monday.
Like every year, the DSCC fixed meat prices again. This year, Tk 25 has been increased per kg of beef than the previous year.
Stern action will be taken if anyone found selling meat beyond fixed prices, said the DSCC Mayor. The DSCC has directed the meat traders to slaughter animals in hygienic places, use digital machines for measuring the weight of meat, and also asked not to sell stale meat. It also asked them to keep meat price chart displayed in a visible area.
