A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 21 persons from Rehaichar in Chapainawabganj town when they were taking drugs on Saturday afternoon.
RAB-5 officials said, they raided the audience-gallery of Daktar AAM Mesbahul Hoque Stadium at 12-30 pm and arrested them as they were taking drugs.
Later the arrested persons were handed over to the police of Chapainawabganj Sadar thana with a case.
Baraigram (Natore) Correspondent reports: Four alleged drug peddlers were held by RAB along with 2,850 liters of local liquor from Kholabaria Khamarpara village under Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.The arrested persons were identified as Sukhchan Pahan, 60, and his brother Gulchan Pahan, 40, Parimal Pahan, 42, and Nirmal Pahan, 32, son of Gasai Pahan. All are residents of the same area.
On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-5 raided the village at around 9:30 am and arrested them with the liquor, said Additional Superintendent of Police Farhad Hossain, commander of RAB-5. Later, they were handed over to the Natore Police Station.
A case was filed in this connection.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a suspected drug trader with 1,595 pieces of Yaba tablets from a remote village in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon district on Friday evening.
“A team of RAB-13 conducted a raid there and arrested the man red-handed with the contraband Yaba tablets,” an officialrelease said. The detainee was identified as Md Shahid Ali, 33, of Thakurgaon district.The elite force continued efforts to nab the other absconding cohorts of the arrested person.
