Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon on Tuesday asked the businessmen to do business keeping life safe.
The mayor announced that a drive against illegal chemicals would be started
from next week in the old Dhaka.
“A committee will be formed with different business bodies including FBCCI, Department of Environment, City Corporations and Fire service and others before renewal of the trade licenses of chemical industries. The committee will visit the industries. If they find any one of illegal 20 chemicals he will be punished by mobile court,” Mayor Khokon said in a meeting titled ‘Renewal of trade licence and business in chemical hub’ at the Nagor Bhaban in the city.
The DSCC mayor said, “We will not hamper the business. We shall keep life safe while doing business.”
FBCCI President Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, DSCC Chief Executive Officer Mostafizur Rahman and DSCC Chief Revenue Officer Yusuf Ali Sardar, among others, were present.
