The driver and the supervisor were killed and 30 others injured when a passenger bus overturned near Mobarakganj Sugar Mills gate in Kaliganj town of the district on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as driver of the bus Hanif Ali, 45, and Supervisor Hashem Ali, 35. The injured were rushed to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex and 250-bed Hospital in Jessore.
The eye witnesses said, the accident took place at about 3.30 PM when the bus of Palash Paribahan overturned near the main gate of Kaliganj Sugar Mills leaving driver and helper dead on the spot.
The fire fighters rushed to the spot and rescued the injured.
The injured are Asar Ali, 45, Hella, 40, Habib, 30, Nila, 35, Mosharraf Hossain, 28, Rokejan, 35, Bayzid, 20, Safiullah, 28 and others.
Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain said, condition of a number of injured was stated to be critical.
