Drive against tinted-glass vehicles from today

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is all set to start a special drive against the vehicles with extra or artificial dark coat or sticker on glasses from today in line with a recent circular of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“Traffic police will seize vehicles with tinted glass on sight and will take action
accordingly,” said deputy commissioner Masudur Rahman of DMP.
“People who will not change the tinted-glasses of their vehicles, will be fined. But owners of the vehicles with built-in dark glasses do not have to worry as our target will be those, who have put extra dark coat or sticker on the plain glasses of their vehicles,” he added.
The home ministry through a circular on May 6, 2014, banned the use of extra or artificial coat of dark or tinted sticker on the glasses of the vehicles and asked the owners to remove the extra coating or sticker by yesterday (May 10).
Earlier, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also had said new security measures, including installation of CCTV cameras, was set to be implemented at important points of all big cities, including Dhaka.
