The ruling party Awami League General Secretary, Obaidul Quader, on Monday said that the ongoing drives against corruption, drugs and criminalization would continue until the menaces are uprooted.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said told reporters in the Secretariat that the Prime Minister had ordered the senior leaders, law enforcement officials and high officials not to compromise with any godfather, extortionist, tender manipulators, drug smugglers or any other corrupt persons.
“The prime minister has said that no guilty person should be spared, even if the person happens to be affiliated with the ruling Awami League,” he said.
“She (PM) also spoke about breaking the cycle of corruption and not to compromise with anyone,” the AL general secretary said.
Many are being arrested at the district level for corruption during the ongoing drive. “It will continue until criminalization and corruption are uprooted.”
Quader said the media should have run reports on these matters.
“Criminal offenders, irrespective of their political affiliations, will not be spared,” the minister reiterated.
