A drawing competition and prize giving ceremony was held at Sheikh Russel Model School at Rajshahi University marking the 50th birth anniversary of Sheikh Russel, youngest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on Saturday amidst much festivity.
Sheikh Russel Model School jointly organised the programme at the school.
Over 200 students of different schools took part in the drawing competition in different categories.
A discussion was held at the same venue. Momena Jinat, Principal of the School presided over the discussion. Prof Golam Kabir, Institute of Education and Research was present as chief guest while RU Registrar Prof Entajul Haque, Proctor Prof Tarikul Hasan and Public Relation Office administrator Prof Elias Hossain addressed the programme as special guest.
The speakers also condemned the brutal killing of Sheikh Russel in 1975 and demanded immediate execution of the fugitive killers.
