The 62nd founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra Union (BCU), a left-leaning student organization, was observed on Saturday with a call for allocating 25 percent of national budget in education sector.
To mark the day, a rally was organized at Battala in front of Dhaka University Arts Building.
Chaired by BCU President Hasan Tareq, the rally was attended by General Secretary Lucky Akhtar, Organizing Secretary GM Jilani
Shuvo, DU unit of BCU President Bidhan Biswas and Dhaka district unit of BCU Vice-President Siam Sarwar Zamil, among others.
The organization staged a cultural function at Swaparjito Swadhinata Sculpture on the campus in the afternoon.
BCU was established on 26 April 1952. This organization is one of the leading student’s organizations in Bangladesh.
It is working for students and youth right as a secular andprogressive student’s organization in Bangladesh as well as all over the world as the member of several international students
and youth organization.
