Rangamati small ethnic group cultural institute has started a three-day small ethnic group drama festival at its auditorium.
Former state minister for the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Dipankar Talukder inaugurated the drama festival on Thursday evening.
Rangamati Zila Parishad chairman Brisoketu Chakma, Director of the institute Runeel Chakma, and former director Sugoto Chakma, also spoke at the inaugural session.
Dipankar Talukdar said the government is very cordial to preserve and flourish the cultural tradition of the small ethnic groups.
He also urged the local cultural organisations and threatre groups and cultural activists to come forward to preserve the local tradition.
Different ethnic groups of three hill districts have been taking part in the three-day drama festival where the play will be presented in different ethnic languages.
