Founder of Gonoswhasthaya Kendra Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury on Monday said that he was optimistic about the release of Barrister Mainul Hosein subject to the presence of the level playing field ahead of national polls.
In reply to a supplementary question, he told the reporters, police are till harassing the leaders and candidates of Oikyafront without any valid reason.
The veteran elite of the country said it while
addressing a press briefing in the Jatiya Oikyafront’s election manifesto releasing programme in a city hotel.
Top leaders of Oikyafront, including Dr Kamal Hossain, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, A.S.M. Abdur Rab, Mahmudur Rahman Manna and Abdul Kader Siddiqui, among others, were present in the press conference.
A former adviser to the caretaker government Barrister Mainul Hosein was picked up by a DB team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) from the residence of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Rab) President ASM Abdur Rab located in the capital’s Uttara on October 22.
