On the recommendation of the Board of Trustees of Southeast University, President and Chancellor of Universities appointed Dr. Md. Abu Taher, Professor of the Department of Management, Chittagong University as Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University (SEU) for four years. Currently, he is one of the Directors of the Board of Directors of Life Insurance Corporation and Academic Adviser of National Defense College. Earlier, he was Chairman of the Department of Management of Chittagong University (CU), elected Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, CU and Treasurer of Bangladesh Open University on deputation. In his long career, he traveled to many countries such as USA, UK, Canada, France, Australia, The Philippines, Korea on education and research purpose. He published more than 65 research-based articles in national and international journals, presented 28 papers in international conferences and published 8 books at Hon’s and Master’s levels. He also served as Director, Consultant and Sub Project Manager in projects funded by various international organizations like World Bank, UGC, ILO, GOB, CoL and UNDP.
