World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) designated Dr Md. Sabur Khan as the High Commissioner for Bangladesh. The announcement and the oath taking ceremony were held on Tuesday at the WBAF World Congress in Istanbul, Turkey. Chairman of WBAF Baybars Altuntas introduced 41 High Commissioners from 41 countries to Dr Gjorgje Ivanov, President of Macedonia. Among others, the Development Minister of Turkey, the Mayor of Porto City, the representative of the Hungarian government, the World President of JCI, the Chairman of the Qatar Business Incubation Center, the President of TUBITAK, the President of the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce and the CEO of the SME Finance Forum along with 250 important players of the world’s equity markets and dignitaries from major angel investments network around the world were also present at the grand event.
Through this new position Bangladesh has joined the largest global angel’s forum of the world and will be able to get connected to the Global Angels Network which will open up splendid opportunities for the country.
Dr Khan has been nominated for this position for his outstanding contribution and effort in developing Entrepreneurs and for his focus in developing the national economy.
It may be mentioned here that WBAF selects High Commissioners from each country considering their activities, reputation, contribution and leadership in their national economy.
Sabur Khan was accompanied by the Managing Director of Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited Golam Monowar Kamal. During these three days events, they participated impact investment Summit, FInTech Summit, CEO-Preneurship Summit.
