Prof Dr. Md. Abul Mansur (Millat), Dean, Faculty of Fisheries, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh has been awarded “Sher-e-Bangla Golden Award-2022. Bangladesh Welfare Foundation arranged this award giving ceremony at Economic Reporters Forum Auditorium of Palton Tower, Old Paltan in Dhaka on Saturday.
Professor Md. Abul Mansur (Millat) has given this information in an informative letter on Tuesday through BAU Registrar Md Siful Islam.
Prof Dr. Md. Abul Mansur has been awarded this prize for his excellent contribution in Education. Bangladesh Supreme Court Justice Khademul Islam Chowdhury was Chief Guest and handed over the crest to Prof Dr. Md. Abul Mansur. Dr. Sharif Saki and Alhaj Abdus Shukkur were Special Guests on the occasion . In this time Barrister Zakir Ahmed inaugurated the seminar on `Role of Sher-e-Bangla in academic flourish in the sub-continent’ and Md. Ataullah Khan presided over the seminar. Prof Dr. Md. Abul Mansur has been teaching in the Department of Fisheries Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh for nearly 36 years. He was Head of the Department for two tenures, Provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hall of BAU, Officer In charge of BAU Fish Farm, Director of Fish Museum and Germplasm Centre. At present he is Dean, Faculty of Fisheries, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. He has written some Text Books on Fisheries which have been accepted and taught in the Universities of Bangladesh and UK. He has supervised over 70 M.S students in the Department and published 73 scientific papers in various journals of the world. Earlier Professor Dr. Md. Abul Mansur achieved PhD degree in 1995 from the University of Hull, England under British Government Scholarship and completed Post-doc Research in Japan in 2001 under JSPS post-doctoral Fellowship.
