UNB, Dhaka :Eminent jurist Dr Kamal Hossain on Saturday observed that democratic culture should be established in the country to facilitate multi-dimensional debate to resolve political problems.He said this while launching the book, ‘Democratic Culture’, authored by Mahmud Reza Chowdhury at the Jatiya Press Club.Publishing house Academy Press and Publication Library (APPL) arranged the ceremony. Dr Kamal said, “We all want democracy in the country but the big question is ‘why we could not achieve democracy’.”Professor emeritus of Dhaka University Dr Serajul Islam Choudhury also spoke on the occasion.Appreciating the book, he said the writer has shown his responsive role by giving emphasis on the liberal track of politics which can help establish democracy in the country.He also said the writer has criticised the problems of democracy though he has avoided the awful effects of capitalism in democracy.New Age editor Nurul Kabir, former chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof Nazrul Islam and APPL managing director Ahmed Sarwar Dola were present at the programme.
