Dr. Abul Kalam Azad , General Manager of the Bangladesh Bank (BB), had been promoted as the Executive Director in the same institution says a press release of the BB issued on Tuesday. Prior to this promotion, he worked in the agro-credit, the secretariat and the inspection departments of the bank.
Dr. Azad joined the Bangladesh Bank in 1988 and successfully executed his responsibilities. He wrote a number of articles on finance, banking , insurance and remittance, and worked as councillor in the Global Trust, a Sweden based research organisation.
