Late President Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed’s wife Anwara Begum died while undergoing treatment at a city hospital on Saturday night. She was 83.
Anwara, also the ex-dean of Dhaka University Biology Faculty, breathed her last at Apollo Hospital around 8.30pm.
Her special assistant Motahar Hossain said Anwara had been receiving treatment at the hospital for various ailments including Pneumonia, asthma and blood pressure since April 14.
From the hospital her body was taken to her Gulshan residence. Dr Anwara left behind one son and a host of relatives to mourn her death.
The body would be brought to Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology which was her last working place, in the morning.
