DPL Cricket starts today

The Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket starts today at the different venues across Dhaka. Defending champions Dhaka Abahani Limited will take on Rupganj Tigers at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, while Prime Bank Cricket Club will face City Club at the BKSP Ground-3 in Savar and Gazi Group Cricketers will meet Legends of Rupganj at BKSP Ground-4.
The players of Bangladesh National Cricket team (ODI and Test) are now staying at South Africa to play a three-match ODI series and two-match Test series against the Proteas in South Africa. Thus, the participating teams of the DPL will miss the cricketers of Bangladesh National Cricket team. A total of 11 teams will compete in the Dhaka Premier League, the most prestigious domestic cricket meet of the country. They are : Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Prime Bank Cricket Club, Legends of Rupganj, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited, Gazi Group Cricketers, Brothers Union Club Limited, Shinepukur Cricket Club, Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity, City Club and Rupganj Tigers.
Meanwhile, a foreign players will be allowed to take part in the DPL cricket for a team in a match.
Najibullah Zadran of Afghanistan will play for Dhaka Abahani Limited and Hanuma Vihari of India will join the Dhaka Abahani Limited soon. Mohammad Hafeez of Pakistan will participate for Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited. Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe will play for Shinepukur Cricket Club. Ashok Menaria of India will participate for Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity, Gurinder Singh of India will play for Gazi Group Cricketers, Parvez Rasool of India will participate for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Chirag Jani of India will play for Legends of Rupganj, Abhimanyu Easwaran of India will play for Prime Bank Cricket Club, Baba Aparajith of India will participate for Rupganj Tigers and Khalid Usman of Pakistan will play for City Club.
