Police recovered domestic weapons including machete, stones and other local weapons from four halls of Chittagong University (CU) in a drive conducted on Saturday night.
Chittagong University authorities (CU) with the help of Police personals and hall authorities carried out the drive at Shahjalal, Shah Amanat and SuhrawardyShahed, Abdur Rob Halls, following a clash between two rival groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at the campus around 7.30 pm.
Contracted, Additional Superintendent of Police (Chittagong North) Mashiuddoula Reza said some weapons were seized from from four residential halls following today’s clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League.No one was detained in this connection.
CU Proctor Monirul Hasan said that we have searched 4 halls with the help of hall authorities and police on the suspicion that domestic weapons are in the hall.Police personals recovers some domestics weapons.Our drive will continue near future as no one can involve any illegal activities in the hall.
