Country’s one of the popular singers Doly Sayontoni’s mother Monwara Begum was also a singer. She regularly rendered songs at Bangladesh Betar’s programme, Durbar. During that time, in Monwara Begum’s voice the song titled Kokra Kokra Chul got huge popularity among the listeners. For this reason, after starting her career as a professional singer, Doly Sayontoni rendered her mother’s song under new musical arrangement. Listeners also received this song positively in Doly’s voice. After many years, Doly again rendered that song in new way. This time Sumon Kalyan has arranged its music. Doly informed that after rendering the song, she is taking preparation to make muisc video of this song. Besides this, the singer has also finished works of two folk songs. These three songs will be released on YouTube channel of Doly soon. While talking about rendering her mother’s song in new way Doly said, “In fact, during childhood, I heard this song in voice of my mother for many times. I did not want to be a singer. But I became singer only for my mother. Then I can say the name of respected Milton Khondokar who made me Doly Sayontoni from Doly. I have a liking about my mother’s that song. When I render this song I feel my mother remains with me. For this
reason, I have rendered this song again for my fans. Earlier, Pranab Ghosh arranged music of this song.” Doly Sayontoni also said that she had dreamt to be a singer. Her dream has fulfilled in her life. But there is a pain with music in her mind. Though she lent her voice for many play-back songs but yet not get the National Film Award as a singer. This gives her a lot of pain. According to Doly, it is her incompleteness of her career in music. Samina Chowdhury and Mitali Mukherji are her favourite singers. Ayesha is her best friend. Doly
has already took part in Desh TV’s celebrity talk show Purnima’r Adda. She has already rendered a new original song titled Ki Chhowa Tomar Chokhe, which will be released as music video in a YouTube channel soon.
