Dolly Zahur in Dhaka after two years

National Film Award winning noted actress Dolly Zahur has returned to Bangladesh after two years. She lived in Australia along with her only son, Riasat. Before starting corona pandemic, she went to Australia. She stalled there due to pandemic but passed nice times with her two grandchildren, Raisa and Raiyan at son’s residence in last two years. After return in January, this veteran actress is missing her son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. She wants to go back to them. But in Dhaka, she has some necessary works in her hands. She has to finish these works now. She took part in Actors’ Equity’s election recently. She also watched Mir Sabbir directed released movie, Raat Jaga Phool.
The actress mentioned before going to Australia, Dolly Zahur got the offer to act in Shyam Benegal directed movie Bangabandhu’s biopic. But during that time, she had to go to her son in Australia. So, she could not get opportunity to act in the biopic movie. She wished everybody’s success who acted in Bangabandhu’s biopic. While sharing her feelings to return country after two years, Dolly Zahur said, “It is really feeling pain for me to left only son and two grandchildren in Australia. However, I have to come in Dhaka. Now I am passing times by own way here. Many directors are contacting with me for works. Now I want to work carefully. I want to act in good story and character based works.”
Rahim Newaj directed Osadharon was Dolly Zahur acted her debut movie. For acting in Shonkhonil Karagar, she got the National Film Award for first time in category of Best Side Actress. She again got the award later for acting in Kazi Morshedul Islam’s Ghani.
Basically Dolly Zahur came into discussion to act in Humayun Ahmed’s popular drama series, Ei Sob Din Ratri. Shonkhonil Karagar, Aguner Poroshmoni, Bichar Hobe, Swapner Thikana, Dipu Number 2, Wrong Number, Nirontor, Ghani, Daruchini Dwip, etc are Dolly Zahur acted mentionable movies.
