Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Wednesday inaugurated the waste management project in Projapati Garden of 41 No. Ward in the Badda Satarkul area.
The waste management project is for 18 new wards.
The Mayor said, 25 cleaners and 13 mosquitoe killers will work for every new wards under supervision of its ward councilor.
He said, a project has been taken up for Tk 4 thousand 200 crore to improve and construct road, footpath and
drainage under extended 18 wards. Each new ward will have playgrounds, community centers and kitchen markets, he added. DNCC Secretary General Rabindrassri Barua, Chief Waste Management Officer M Monjur Hossain and Chief Engineer Brigadier General Sayeed Ahmed, among others, were present on the occasion.
