DNCC announces Tk 2,567.45 cr budget for 2018-19 FY

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Panel mayor Osman Gani on Monday announced Taka 2,567.45 crore (proposed) budget for 2018-19 Fiscal Year (FY).
“Of the total budget, Taka 857.20 crore will come from revenue income including Taka 400 crore from holding tax,” the panel mayor said while addressing a press conference at the DNCC office at Gulshan in the city.
“Out of the total revenue income, the DNCC expects that 50 percent will come from the holding tax,” he added.
Osman Gani said, the corporation expects
Taka 150 crore to come from government allotments while Taka 50 crore would be special allocation from the government and Taka 1,300 crore to be financed by the government and foreign-funded projects.
He expected that the corporation would earn Taka 200 crore from properties hand over, Taka 60 crore from trade licence, Taka eight crore from bus and truck terminals, Taka seven crore from advertisement, Taka 25 crore from cattle markets and Taka six crore from community centres in the current fiscal year.
In the proposed budget, the corporation allocated Taka 21 crore for mosquito control activities and Taka 78 crore for wastage management purpose.
During the conference, City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Misbaul Islam, Chief Health Officer Brigadier General SM Saleh Bhuiyan and officials concerned were present.
Earlier, the DNCC’s budget was Taka 2,387.80 crore for 2017-18 fiscal.
