Actual identity sought: DMP releases 7 photos of Gazipur militants

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has released photos of the seven militants killed in Patertek raid in Gazipur on October 8, urging people to send information about the deceased.

In a post on Facebook, the DMP said, “From different raids and analysis of the information we have learnt that the militants use many pseudonyms at different times and places. It is imperative that we get their real identities for investigation.

 “If anyone happens to know the identity any of these militants, please inform us on our Facebook page, website or on Hello CT app.”

The primary identities of deceased are-Faridul Islam alias Akash, 32, also Computer science engineer and son of Abu Seyed, from Sirajganj district, Ibrahim, 19, son of Azimuddin, from Moghaltuli in Old Dhaka, Sanaullah, 22, son of Abu Shama, from Gaibandha district, Ahmed Rafid Hasan, 18, Ayad Hasan, 19, inhabitant of Monipur of city’s Mirpur, Afif Kaderi alias Nabil, was student of Mile Stone College in city’s Uttara, police sources said.

Eleven ‘suspected militants’ were killed in Gazipur and Tangail during raids conducted by joint forces on Saturday.

Of them, seven were killed in Patartek, two in Harinal under Gazipur district and another two in Tangail.

DMP is yet to release photos of Harinal and Tangail raid victims.
