Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Sunday filed 4,846 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation. It also realized 27.17 lakh as fine for traffic rule violation, said an official release.
Of the total cases, 931 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 107 for using hydraulic horn, seven for using hotter and beckon light and 14 others for using tinted glass.
Police filed 1,954 cases against motorcycles and seized 106 others for violation of the traffic rules.
Traffic police has dumped 24 vehicles and wrecked 725 others.
