The members of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several anti-drug raids arrested a total of 41 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during last 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday.
The DB in association with local police carried out the drives simultaneously in different city areas starting at 6am on April 18, according to a DMP press release.
During the anti-drug drive, police seized 2 grams and 10 puria (small packet) of heroin, 26.200 kilograms of cannabis (ganja), 3,560 piece of yaba tablets and 255 bottles of pehnsidyle from their possession, it said.
Police filed 31 cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
