The second divisional sport competitions of the government officials, employees and their children of all eight districts under Rangpur division were held amid festivity in Rangpur Stadium on Saturday.
The divisional administration with the assistance of Bangladesh Government Employees Welfare Board (BGEWB) arranged the competitions.
Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Dilwar Bakht formally inaugurated the competition by hoisting national flag as the chief guest and Deputy Commissioners hoisted their respective district flags simultaneously at the opening ceremony.
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Narayan Chandra Barma and Divisional Deputy Director of BGEWB Ibrahim Khan were present as special guests.
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Farid Ahammad delivered the welcome speech in the inaugural ceremony.
The Deputy Commissioners from all eight districts in Rangpur division, government officials, family members of the officials and employees, hundreds of spectators and students of different educational institutions were present.
The chief guest expressed satisfaction over the excellent arrangement of the sport competitions and distributed prizes among the winners in different sport events in the afternoon.
A total of 300 participants participated in 33 events under six groups.
