A 4-day long 18th Founding Anniversary of Daffodil International University (DIU) began on Wednesday with flying 100 Kites in observance of ‘Mujib Centenary’ commemorating 100 years celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the permanent campus, Ashulia, Savar.
State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md. Enamur Rahman, MP inaugurated the program at Swadhinota Milonayoton as chief guest. Presided over by Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU, the function was also addressed by Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr SM Mahbubul Haque Majumder, Pro vice chancellor, Prof M Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Prof Dr Mostafa Kamal, Convener of 18th Founding Anniversary and Dean, Permanent Campus.
Through flying 100 kites containing faces of Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, President Md. Abdul Hamid, the celebration program was inaugurated by the State Minister.
To mark the Founding Anniversary, 4 daylong Inter department sports competition, Math Olympiad, Intra University Cultural competition, IT Quiz, Project Showcasing and exhibition have been arranged.
The program also includes Bus Rally, Pitha Utshab, Blood Donation Program, Discussion, Picnic, Tree Plantation, Games and Sports, Fun Events & Raffle Draw and gala musical soiree by the participation of the students.
State Minister Dr Md. Enamur Rahman said, it is government’s responsibility to ensure education for all, but due to some limitations, government can’t perform it properly. DIU is performing that gigantic task extending cooperation to the government and act as assisting power.
The Mnister praised the large green campus of DIU as world class campus and termed it as a theme park and a resort which would help the students to explore their merit and innovation ideas.
Dr Md. Sabur Khan said, there is alternative to enhance your skill for your career. So students should develop skill accordingly his/her student life. Daffodil International University is doing a lot for developing student’s skill.
As example he said the Art of living, Employability 360 degree, One student One Laptop ect.
He said that Daffodil International University distributed more than 34 thousand laptop among the students with free of cost.
Student can use this laptop for developing their career. He said to the student, be an entrepreneur by using this laptop.
