Campus Report :A workshop on “Strengthening Rural SME Development” has recently been held at CIRDAP Auditorium in the city. Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) organized the workshop in which Daffodil International University (DIU) was the vibrant participant, says a press release. Salient points on possible collaborative areas of SME Sector, young entrepreneurship development, education, research, rural development, joint programs, training and conferences were in the main focus of the workshop. Dr. Cecep Effendi, Director General, CIRDAP and DIU Chairman Md. Sabur Khan lead the workshop on behalf of their respective institutions. Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr M Mizanur Rahman, Treasurer, Prof Dr M Zakir Hossain, Director (Studies), Prof Dr SM Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Prof Dr Golam Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Emran Hossain, Director (Administration), Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs) took part in the workshop on behalf of DIU. On the other hand, Hossein Shahbaz, Director, Pilot Projects Division, M Mahbub Alam, Head of Admin and Finance, Nasim Al-Rashid, Secretary, Dr Usharani Baruah, Librarian, David Hilton, Asst. Programme Officer (PPD), Fahima Binte Jamal, Editorial Assistant, Engr. Waliul Hasnat, Computer Programmer, Md. Shafiqur Rahman, Asst. Programme Officer (Research) and other high officials from CIRDAP attended the workshop. At the end of the workshop both the institutions mutually agreed to work together in arranging national/international annual workshop on SME especially on entrepreneur issue, joint conference and research support. CIRDAP will share all of its successful implements of SME development among CIRDAP member countries to DIU.
