DIU arranges workshop on “Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics”

Speakers at the inaugural ceremony of a workshop said the country’s education system has become skill-biased and there is no emphasis on human values. So, while we progress in skills, develop and use new technologies, we are unable to ensure ethical use of the technology and uphold human values and professional ethics in the society.
They said these while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 3-day Workshop on “Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics” began on Monday at the Auditorium of Daffodil International University (DIU).
Considering the importance of humane education and professional ethics in present society Daffodil International University organized this workshop.
The speakers stressed that parents, teachers and society/ environment have the responsibility of providing education to ensure development of definite human conduct and values.
They recommended for developing individuals, families, group of families through preparing the teachers, education for excellence and bringing excellence in to all social support systems starting with the education system, then the legal system, health system, the productive system and so on.
 Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Chairman, National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest while Engr. Prof. Dr. M. Abdus Sobhan, Vice Chancellor, Prime University, Bangladesh was present as the special guest and Prof. Dr. Yousuf Mahabubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as the guest of Honor. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU presided over the inaugural function.
