The annual general meeting (AGM) and election of 2016-2017 of DIU Alumni Association, an organization of ex- students of Daffodil International University (DIU) was held recently at DIU Auditorium.
Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present in the program as the chief guest. Presided over by Manjurul Alam Jewel, President, DIU Alumni Association and Head of HRD, Eastern Bank Ltd, the function by Dr Aminul Islam, Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor DrGolam Maowla Chowdhury, Controller of Examinations and Proctor, Mominul Haque Majumder, Founder President, DIU Alumni Association and Director (Finance and Accounts), DIU, Masum Iqbal, Head, Department of Business Administration and Mahbub Parvez, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
A 31-member new executive committee for the year 2016-2017 was elected where Manjurul Alam Jewel, President, DIU Alumni Association and Head of HRD, Eastern Bank Ltd, was elected as President and Ziaul Haque Sumon, Assistant Manager, Airtel Bangladesh Ltd as General Secretary. The other members of the committee are: Vice President- Ishaq Miji, Rasle Prodhania, Mohin Chowdhury, Mahmudul Hassan, Rafiq Ahmed, Joint Secretary- Afsarur Rahman, Mahfuzur Rahman,, Anisur Rahman, Treasurer- Rezaul Karim
Md. Sabur Khan said, Daffodil International University Alumni Association is working to bring all the graduates under one community. We believe that this network of graduates will act as a strong platform to share upholding the noble objective to foster the professional and intellectual growth of DIU graduates.
He also said, this Association will establish Unity, Compassion and Brotherhood among the graduates in a ground full of assistance and cooperation.
While addressing among the members, President of the Alumni Manjurul Alam Jewel said, DIU Alumni is working for making a garden where all the daffodils will outdo the odds and maladies of the society in glee.
He said, approximately 10000 Graduates from DIU are working in their professional life and many of them holding important positions in a diverse category of organizations; many are pursuing their career abroad. These alumni will work together for our betterment and for the betterment of the nation.
